The band have won several awards for its major label debut album From Under the Cork Tree which was released in 2005 and the album has achieved triple platinum status and sold more than 2.5 million copies in the US alone.
Their first single, “Sugar We’re Going Down”, peaked at No8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the accompanying video won the MTV2 Award at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards prompting a surge in sales. The band were also nominated for Best New Artist at the 2006 Grammy Awards.

In February 2007, the band released the album Infinity on High and it achieved major chart success reaching No1 on the Billboard 200, selling 260,000 copies in its first week of release. The lead single “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s and Arms Race” reached No1 on the Pop 100. To promote the album, the band performed at the Live Earth concerts on July 7 2007 and performed at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.
