The bands current line-up consist of Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Nicko McBrain, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers.
Iron Maidens eponymous 1980 release Iron Maiden, reached No4 in the UK Album Chart in its first week of release and shot the band to fame. In addition to the title track, the album includes other early favourites such as “Running Free” and “Sanctuary”. The band played a headline tour of the UK shortly after and went on to open for Kiss on their 1980 European leg of their Unmasked Tour.
Bruce Dickinson joined the band in 1981 and his first recorded debut was the 1982 album, Number Of The Beast, an album that claimed their first ever No1 in the UK Album Chart and for the second time, the group embarked on a world tour, visiting the US, Canada, Japan and Australia.

Iron Maiden have enjoyed prolific success and were ranked No24 in VH1s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and in Kerrang! magazine, ranked as the most important band of the last 25 years. Their success continued and came fourth on MTVs Top 10 Greatest Heavy Metal Bands of All Time.
The band also won the Ivor Novello Award for international achievement in 2002 and inducted into the Hollywood Rock Walk during their tour in the United States in 2005, proving they are still at the top of their game.
